La Regina Royal Cruise
La Regina Royal is a 4-star wooden junk launched in 2023, sailing the classic core of Halong Bay with a youthful, craft-driven take on Vietnamese tradition. It has three primary decks plus a storage basement: deck 1 holds the reception and 12 Noble Suites (26m²) plus two connecting rooms; deck 2 has the 60-seat Grace Restaurant, 6 Imperial Suites and 2 Royal Suites (26-35m²); the sundeck adds a Top Deck Bar. Every suite has an in-suite jacuzzi and wide bay-view windows. It runs the iconic route - Luon Cave, Titop Island and Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
A genuine rarity at the 4-star level: every one of La Regina Royal's 20 suites comes with its own in-suite jacuzzi and wide bay-view windows, and at roughly $130 per guest for the 2D1N it is honest value on a boat only launched in 2023. The trade-off is the route, which runs Halong's classic and busiest core (Luon Cave, Titop Island, Sung Sot Cave), so expect company at every stop rather than the quiet of Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long. Note there is no elevator (stairs across three decks) and the published rate card only sells 2-guest suites, so families beyond a couple plus one small child would need to confirm the two connecting rooms with the operator directly.

La Regina Royal is a newer wooden junk (launched 2023) where every cabin has its own in-suite jacuzzi and wide bay-view windows. The Grand Royal Suite (35m²) adds a sofa and fresh fruit, and it runs the classic Halong core route - Luon Cave, Titop Island, Sung Sot Cave - from $260/cabin
The bookable rate card here only lists 2-guest suites (Noble, Imperial, Grand Royal), so it suits couples best. The boat does have two connecting rooms on deck 1 for families, but they aren't priced in this snapshot - we'd need to confirm availability and rate with the operator
