Mila Lux Cruise
A boutique 20-cabin boat - formerly Pelican Cruise (sailing since 2014), renovated in 2023 and now sailing as Mila Lux in the Mila fleet - spread across three warm timber decks. It markets itself as one of Halong's most cost-saving overnight cruises while keeping boutique perks: every cabin opens onto its own French balcony over the bay, and there's a spa, sky bar and sundeck to unwind on. Two- and three-day itineraries take guests through Halong's landmark sights, then slip into quieter corners of the bay.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
The genuine draw here is that every one of the 20 cabins opens onto its own French balcony, and a 2023 refit keeps the boat feeling fresh at a price that undercuts most of the fleet. Just set expectations on the rooms: the standard Junior and Senior suites are a compact 18m2, and only the two Royal Suites (30m2) get a real terrace with loungers. The 2D1N runs Halong's busy main channel rather than quieter waters, so book the 3D2N if you want the calmer Lan Ha Bay detour. There is a spa and sky bar but no pool or lift, and the rates we hold are indicative, with the final rate confirmed at booking.

A boutique boat trades scale for privacy - every cabin has its own balcony, and there's a spa, sky bar and sundeck onboard. Fewer guests means closer service and less crowding at each stop
Mila Lux markets itself as one of Halong's most cost-saving cruises but it was renovated in 2023 and all cabins have a French balcony. It's a solid value pick - if you want a bigger, more established boat instead, Azalea is a step up in price
2D1N covers Halong's icons - Sung Sot Cave, Titop Island, Luon Cave. 3D2N adds Lan Ha Bay, with Ba Trai Dao beach and Trinh Nu cave, which are quieter and more pristine and ideal if you want a slower pace. The price gap is small
