Verdure Lotus Cruise
A 4-star steel junk on Lan Ha Bay, its stacked multi-deck silhouette inspired by the lotus flower. Three decks with 16 wood-finished cabins for up to 46 guests, an open-space restaurant-bar (seats ~48) and a sundeck; furniture is German-imported and the boat is set up for parties, weddings and honeymoons. Deluxe cabins already run 35m² with a private balcony.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
Verdure Lotus punches above its budget-end price: on quiet Lan Ha Bay, every one of its 16 cabins opens onto a private balcony, the 35-square-metre Deluxes are unusually roomy for a 4-star junk, and the 55-square-metre Suite adds a jacuzzi bathtub with bay views. From roughly $123 a guest with kayaking and squid fishing already included, it is genuine value. Just set expectations: at 46 guests it is a mid-size boat rather than an intimate one, there is no on-board pool or spa (massage is charged separately), and it is a three-deck junk with stairs only, no lift.

Verdure Lotus is a newer 4-star steel junk with spacious cabins (the Deluxe is already 35m² with a private balcony) and German-imported furniture, priced at the budget end (from $246/cabin). Reviewers note the exterior looks a touch plain and spa/massage is charged separately, but cabins and food score highly
The Suite Room (55m², King bed) has a private balcony and a jacuzzi bathtub with bay views - the honeymoon pick. Every Deluxe and Executive room also has a private balcony, and there's a sunset Happy Hour (buy 1 get 1)
