Orchid Trendy Cruise
An upgraded 5-star boutique junk on Lan Ha Bay and around Cat Ba Island, run by the Pelican Group (Image Halong) - formerly Azalea Cruise. Two cabin decks plus a sundeck across 18 cabins, with an Indochina-themed restaurant, an outdoor pool/jacuzzi and a small sundeck bar. It delivers a 5-star feel at a reasonable price.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
An upgraded rebrand of the former Azalea, Orchid Trendy delivers a genuine 5-star boutique feel on Lan Ha Bay, the quieter and prettier neighbour to the main Halong channel, at roughly $175 per guest. The standard Deluxe cabins come with a private balcony and a bathtub, and there is an outdoor pool and jacuzzi on the sundeck, which is generous for an 18-cabin boat at this price point. Two honest caveats: it is a stairs-only two-decker with no lift and no full spa (massage is a paid extra), and the pricing here is indicative, so confirm the rate and inclusions before booking.
