Nostalgia Cruise
Launched in late 2022, Nostalgia is a boutique 5-star cruise sailing Lan Ha Bay and around Cat Ba Island, styled in an Indochine look blended with traditional Vietnamese royal (Hue) features. The fleet is two identical boats of 10 private cabins each - King, Queen and Princess Suites, all with a private balcony - spread over 3 decks. With a capacity of just 20-25 guests, it feels intimate; deck 2 has a large jacuzzi that fits up to 10 people, and the top deck is a sundeck lounge bar.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
Nostalgia is one of Lan Ha Bay's newer boutique boats (launched late 2022), and it earns its keep on the details: every one of its ten suites has a private balcony and a bathtub, and the lone King Suite adds an in-bath jacuzzi. With just 20 to 25 guests across two identical hulls, it stays genuinely intimate, and the tranquil Ao Ech route keeps you off the busiest channels. Two honest caveats: the cabins are modest in size (28 to 35m2 for the standards), and there is no spa, pool or elevator, so this is more romantic hideaway than full-service resort. Note too that the rate here is indicative, so confirm the price before you commit.
