Nostalgia Sails
Launching October 2026, Nostalgia Sails is the new boutique fleet from Nostalgia Cruises, sailing Halong and Lan Ha Bay. It blends traditional Vietnamese charm with refined Indochine sophistication, drawing on Nguyen Dynasty royal architecture through artisanal, heritage-inspired spaces. The itinerary favours the quieter Lan Ha Bay side (Ao Ech, Tra Bau) with a Vietnamese-French fusion dinner onboard.
Rates not yet published - Nostalgia Sails is a pre-launch new-build (maiden season Oct 2026); all cabin rates are on request.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
On paper this is one of the more generous cabin line-ups on Lan Ha Bay: all seven categories open to a private balcony or terrace, standard rooms include a bathtub, and the Regal (king round bed), Prestige and 140m2 Master suites add jacuzzi terraces. The route favours the quieter side of the bay (Ao Ech kayaking, a Tra Bau swim), which we prefer to the busy main channel, though the Day 2 stop at Thien Cung Cave is one of Halong's more crowded sights. Two caveats keep us cautious: it is a brand-new build launching October 2026 with no sailings to judge yet, and rates are still on request, so we can't vouch for value. No spa, pool, gym or lift is listed and the multi-deck layout means stairs.
