La Casta Star is a contemporary-elegant 5-star boat that leans into the quiet side of Lan Ha Bay, departing Tuan Chau International Marina for secluded lagoons, floating villages and pristine beaches around Cat Ba Island, away from the main tourist routes. It is the sister ship of La Casta Cruise. Cabins run from 40m² suites with private balconies and sea-view bathtubs up to 70m² VIP and President suites with outdoor jacuzzis and a private sauna.

La Casta Star is one of the rare boats where there is no "basic" cabin - every room is a 40m2 suite with a private balcony and a sea-view bathtub, and the 70m2 VIP and President suites add an outdoor jacuzzi, a private terrace and even a private sauna. The Lan Ha itinerary is a genuine draw too, favouring the secluded Tra Bau and Ba Trai Dao corners over the busier main Halong channels, with kayaking and a bamboo boat already included. Two caveats worth knowing: the boat is four decks with stairs only (no lift, plus a 25-minute tender out to it), and spa treatments cost extra. Note the pricing here is indicative, so confirm the final rate before booking.

- Afternoon: kayaking and swimming at Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches Islets) (or Dark & Light Cave if the weather turns); sunset on the sundeck + Happy Hour (buy 2 get 1) + a Vietnamese cooking demonstration

- Lan Ha Bay weather is variable; kayaking, swimming and shore visits are weather-dependent. In poor weather Ba Trai Dao is swapped for the sheltered Dark & Light Cave (kayak or bamboo boat). Winter (Dec-Feb) is cool and misty.
