Hera Cruise
Hera Cruise (a.k.a. Hera Grand Cruise) is a wooden junk launched in 2016, sailing Halong Bay with just 13 spacious cabins across four decks. Each cabin has its own theme - ocean, earth or heaven - with rich wooden interiors, and the ship carries a gym, a spa, indoor and outdoor restaurants (Lily, Iris), a Sky Bar and a plant-filled sundeck. Positioned as budget-with-good-service, it's known for cultural evenings - the "Footsteps of Heritage" fashion show, folk music and bamboo dancing.
Scored by our Halong cruise team, who spend their season on these waters. We rate each boat the way a returning guest would - cabins, dining, crew, itinerary and value - not the way a listing does.
The suites punch well above the price: an Ocean Suite gives you 45m2 with a private balcony and a proper bathtub, and the Earth and Heaven Suites stretch to 60m2 with a terrace and sofa, for what plenty of boats charge for a plain cabin. The "Grand Luxury" label oversells it though, because the entry Junior Suite is a compact 35m2 with only a walk-in shower, there is no pool or lift across the four wooden decks, and the 2D1N run sticks to Halong's busiest stops at Titop and Sung Sot. Book up to a real suite, lean into the cultural evenings, and it is genuine value; take the cheapest cabin expecting five-star and you will feel the gap.

Hera is a 2016 wooden junk positioned as budget-with-good-service rather than true 5-star. The entry Junior Suite (35m²) has a walk-in shower, not a bathtub; the real comfort jump is an Ocean Suite (45m², private balcony + bathtub) or an Earth/Heaven Suite (60m², terrace), which also add a wine bottle and a massage voucher
Yes - the Family Connecting cabin (70m², up to 4) is two Junior Suites joined by a door. It's the only family room on this 13-cabin boat, so it books out early. Kids under 5 sharing are free; 5-12 are charged 75%
